For the love of God. I would like to speak to the person who decided it was a good idea to have a dancing human, bad dancing human, in that Popeye’s chicken ad. The song, with that whole ‘tell me what’s your flavor’ crap, is freakin annoying. Apparently the song is a condensed and remixed version of a Craig David song. The song sounds like it was made with one of those kiddy keyboards. Ya know the ones with those 3 buttons of pre-programmed rhythms and beats. And the worst part….. what hell is the deal with that guy dancing (the white guy)? It’s not funny. Is it supposed to be funny? Why is he making his face look like that? Does he have something pinchy in his pants? Also, I notice that there are 2 different ads..one with the crazy white guy dancing and one with a crazy black guy dancing. WOW, good job with that ‘target’ marketing stuff you read about. But what about me? How do I know to go to Popeye’s? I mean there’s no dancing crazy white girl…..guess I don’t like fried chicken. But wait! I looove fried chicken. horrible ad, horrible concept, horrible song.

Popeye’s hired a new agency for National stuff in 2006. I guess the new guys did the ad (but I’m not positive about that). I am really hoping they didn’t because I checked out the new agency’s website and it is the opposite of a sucky commercial. Their site is super cool without being pretentiously artful. You should totally check it out and not tell them what I said.

ps. I looked forever (5min) for the spot but the internets don’t got it.
